: Child's Play by the Bay has a all new nature-based outdoor classroom The outdoor classroom expands learning opportunities for children aged 2-5, building academic skills within a unique natural environment with an emphasis on nature based inquiry and outdoor exploration.
Purpose:
The Outdoor Classroom Lead Instructor will actively participate in the development and management of the preschool program, will provide leadership and direction for the outdoor classroom, and will act as lead instructor for the preschool program. Successful candidate will have a strong commitment to nature-based education and enthusiasm for the amount of outdoor activity included in the preschool program.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Program Development, Planning and Development
Daily direct teaching and facilitating with multiple small groups of young children
Work with leadership team to:
Design nature-based developmentally appropriate preschool program guided by mission, principles and practices for quality early childhood programs.
Identify curriculum resources.
Maintain and set up classroom space.
Work actively with CPBTB staff.
Work with all staff to and facilitate meetings and activities.
Teaching and Evaluating
Serve as lead outdoor classroom instructor for all classes/groups of children at CPBTB
Assess programs based on current research and developmentally appropriate practices and make recommendations for improvement.
Assure compliance with all relevant governmental rules and regulations. Be awareEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
