Summary:
The Surgical Nurse Reviewer's chief responsibility is to collect and submit reliable data to the ACS NSQIP. This is accomplished through high quality data compilation, documentation, and entry into the ACS NSQIP database of all eligible surgeries for Beebe Healthcare. The SCR works closely with the Quality Outcomes Analyst and members of Surgical Services, to identify and facilitate opportunities for clinical quality improvement and other special projects as may be identified.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the identification of surgical patients for inclusion in the program registry through the application of strict program inclusion/exclusion criteria and randomization protocol and meeting the caseload accrual requirement. Responsible for the reliable collection of pre-operative, operative, and operative data components for the program through the effective utilization of the hospital medical record system. Demonstrates appropriate utilization of resources necessary to obtain valid/reliable data. Obtain data and develop reports for presentation to applicable Surgical Services and/or Morbidity & Mortality meetings to ensure reliable collection and analysis of postoperative occurrences. (Collaborates with the Quality Outcomes Analyst to ensure that there are no gaps in identified surgical Morbidity & Mortality cases.) Demonstrates applicability of the methodology and the reliability of definitions utilized by reviewers within the program through Inter-Rater Reliability (IRR) testing. Responsible for utilizing software applications and the accurate and timely entry and transmission of data and meets the caseload accrual requirement protocol. Establishes effective working relationships with members of the hospital community, especially staff in the Surgery, Medicine, Nursing, Quality, Medical Records and IS departments whose support is necessary for the management and success of the programs. Contacts patients and/or families via telephone and/or written communications postoperatively for the purpose of identifying possible occurrences associated with surgical procedures performed at the hospital. Reviews weekly site accrual reports on the database and responds to accrual report alerts and ensures timely data entry. Participates in Program teleconferences. Attends national conferences pertaining to the Program, as requested. Demonstrates appropriate utilization of resources necessary to obtain valid, reliable data for entry into the Program and works closely with the Quality Outcomes Analyst for analysis as well as follow through for technical and clinical problem solving. Successful completion of ACS NSQIP SCR Training. Pass the certification exam at 6 months after initial training and annually thereafter. Serves as an educational resource on the ACS NSQIP for internal and external audiences by developing educational material and delivering presentations. Responsible for performance improvement initiatives associated with/identified by semi-annual report (SAR) or other surgical indicators. Assists with observation and monitoring of Quality outcomes measures as needed. Credentials:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
